Star Wars Episode I: Movie Review

Entertainment Movies

The plot for the movie has been set thirty-two years before the original film released by George Lucas. The movie follows a storyline in which the Jedi Knights and Obi-Wan strive to protect the queen in the quest of securing an end to an interplanetary trade dispute. They are joined by a Skywalker who possesses the extreme powers of the Force. While trying to settle the dispute, they discover the return of mysterious Sith race. The movie is another blockbuster brought to us by the mastermind George Lucas.

It begins thirty-two years before the start of the original storyline, where the trade federation is causing distress to the galactic republic resulting in jamming all communications to the planet Naboo with the intent of capturing the planet using a full-scale invasion. To maintain the normality, the Republic’s supreme chancellor reports the Jedi master (played by Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) to start a negotiation with the federation. During their operation, they meet a young Skywalker (played by Jake Lloyd) as well as the outcast jar-jar-binks and hence begins their adventure. The movie has been set against awesome backdrops.

The characters portrayed in “The Phantom Menace” dwell within a plot which is a tad more complex than many other science-fiction magazines. The dialogue produced by the characters is pretty flat and straightforward which gives it an impression of being seasoned with a quasi-classical formality. There are numerous rules established by George Lucas before planning for the movie, and within these rules, he has scripted a brilliant story. The key development in the movie is the meeting of Master and the young Anakin Skywalker. The Jedi Master immediately upon meeting the kid realizes that the powers are extremely strong around him. This then follows a few quite emotional scenes where Anakin is told to leave his mother and follow the Jedi to train under him. Lucas’ visuals in these scenes are great, and the movie’s energy level as a whole is much more cheerful than before; he refrains from sharing the fact that the future is a dark place.

The movie is filled completely with exhilaration. Almost each and every scene of the movie is filled completely with a sense of discovery, as Lucas tries new effects and ideas in the movie. He gives the viewers a threshold of the new age of epic cinema. A rich usage of digital cinematographic meant that the imagination of the filmmakers would not be limited just to the script. Having a length of 133 minutes, it is a little longer than typical George Lucas film. However, it is worth watching the movie, every second of it. I would gladly rate the movie 4.5 stars out of 5. Whether it is about the storyline, the acting, or the VFX, you are surely going to love almost everything about this movie.

So, in case you have somehow missed this amazing movie of the Star Wars series, I would highly recommend you just to go and watch, or you will miss a legendary movie of its time.
